clouds-sunrise.jpg — provenance

WHY THIS FILE EXISTS

`clouds.jpg`, the plate this replaces, cannot ship in the sellable pack for one
reason: nobody recorded which model made it. `make_pack.py` excludes it by
name. That is a whole asset lost to a missing line of text, so this plate gets
its line of text on the day it arrives.

`video/imagegen.py` writes this sidecar automatically for anything it
generates. This one was made outside that path, so it is written by hand and
carries the same fields.

CHOSEN ON MEASUREMENT, NOT ON TASTE

Three candidates were rendered through the real kit (`KitLab-glass`, frame 0,
plate swapped, everything else identical) and measured for contrast against
`#F4EEE9` in the three zones where the design system puts text:

bed headline card band caption WORST
  clouds.jpg 3.37 3.31 4.06 3.31
  A sunburst-left 4.13 4.29 5.15 4.13 <- this one
  B soft-sun 3.33 5.20 5.37 3.33
  C wide-calm 3.36 4.93 4.52 3.36

A bed is only as readable as its worst region, and A is the only candidate
that is good in all three. The reason is nameable: its sun sits lower in the
frame, so the top band stays dark exactly where the kicker and the headline
live. In B and C the sun rides up into the headline zone.

THE COST, MEASURED

A photographic plate raises gate 2b's floor. Same composition, plate swapped:

  clouds.jpg 63.3% occupied
  clouds-sunrise 73.3% occupied

An empty beat on this bed still scores about seventy per cent, so
`check_density.py` has less room to notice one. **The 35% sparse line was
calibrated on frames from finished renders, not on this plate. Re-derive it
for a GLASS episode rather than assuming 35 still means anything here.**

DECIDED, 29 Aug 2026 — THE PROMPT IS NOT NEEDED

Shahbaz's call: the PNG masters are kept (`~/Videos/Voice project/images/`),
so the plate can always be re-encoded from source. For OUR OWN published
videos that is the whole requirement, and it is settled.

What that does NOT settle is the sellable pack, and the two are different
questions. A buyer cannot use our plate; they need to make their own. So the
pack's position is unchanged and needs no prompt to decide it: **the pack
ships no plate**, exactly as it already excludes `clouds.jpg`, and the
buyer generates one through the free FLUX Space with `video/imagegen.py` —
which is the rule anyway (`video-making` SKILL step 3).

Nothing here is outstanding. Recorded so the question is not reopened.
